Hi! Thank you for visiting my site. A bit about me …
I grew up competing in gymnastics, eventually earning 12 team and individual state titles for my high school in Roseville, MN, before earning on spot on the the Winona State University team. I competed for four years regionally and nationally, making it to the floor exercise finals with a routine I choreographed for myself (see routine here).
I love choreographing routines – bringing the individual strengths and styles of gymnasts to life on the floor and beam. I work with gymnasts of all levels, and have designed hundreds of routines over the past 10 years, many of which have been performed at the state and national levels. I really enjoy collaborating closely with the athlete and coach to be sure to set the right tone and bring out the best in the individual.
By day, I’m a school teacher. In the past I’ve taught elementary physical education at American International School Kuwait and secondary PE, health and adapted PE at Arete Academy, North Saint Paul High School, and Tartan High School in Minnesota. I am currently teaching for Fusion Global Academy.
In addition, I teach yoga and group fitness classes. To my classes, I bring my own lifelong learning as an athlete and fitness enthusiast, but I also do my best to bring a sense of fun. I want my students to leave the class feeling stronger, invigorated and happy. I teach yoga, and a range of fitness classes, including HIIT, spin, sculpt and weight-training, for total body workout. I am currently teaching at Minneapolis Bouldering Project in Minneapolis. See here for my schedule and other offerings.
I should also mention that I love to travel and teach in new places. I’ve spent time studying and teaching at Sampoorna Yoga in Goa, India and I’ve traveled and taught in many other countries including Mexico and Cambodia.
Lastly, here are my credentials:
- Certified Yoga Teacher (RYT 500)
- Certified Group Fitness Instructor
- Master’s degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Emporia State University in Kansas
- Bachelor’s degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Winona State University in Minnesota
